# Billing and plans

> What Starter and Pro include, how the trial works, and how to manage or cancel your Keyplar subscription.

**Billing** is your store's own subscription to Keyplar — separate from the payment gateway you
charge your customers through. It's one of the two admin pages that stay open before you
subscribe (the other is Settings).

Both plans carry a maximum upload size per file, shown on the upload area in
[Benefits](/benefits/downloads).

<Note>
  Orders, License API calls and connected gateways are unlimited by design and are never metered.
  Growing your sales never costs you more here.
</Note>

Need something the plans don't cover? Email [support@keyplar.com](mailto:support@keyplar.com) —
custom arrangements are possible and appear on your Billing page as an option to subscribe to.

## Subscribing

Open **Billing**, pick a plan, and check out. A card is required even when a trial is running —
you're just not charged until it ends.

<Note>
  **One trial per customer.** If you cancel and subscribe again later, billing starts
  immediately.
</Note>

Until you subscribe, most admin pages show a prompt to pick a plan. Settings and Billing stay
fully usable, so you can connect a gateway and look around first.

## Changing plans

Switch from **Billing**. Upgrading unlocks the new plan's features immediately.

Downgrading is safe by design: nothing is deleted. If you're over the new plan's storage limit,
uploads pause until you're back under it, but **published files keep serving** — your customers
are never cut off by your billing decisions. Custom domains and logos stop applying if you drop
to a plan without branding, and come back if you upgrade again.

## Usage

The usage panel shows how much of your plan the store has consumed:

* **Storage** — total size of your uploaded download files
* **Bandwidth** — download traffic this month, reset monthly
* **Admin seats** — how many of your team slots are in use

You get an email at 80% and again at 100% before anything stops. Running out pauses new uploads
or downloads — never your customers' existing access.

<Note>
  Bandwidth is counted when a download link is issued, using the file's size, not by measuring
  the transfer. A customer who clicks and cancels still counts. It's an upper bound, so real usage
  is always at or below what you see.
</Note>

## Cancelling and resuming

**Cancel subscription** stops the plan at the end of the current billing period — you keep
everything until then. The panel switches to showing the date it ends, with a **Resume
subscription** button to change your mind before that.

## Payment method and invoices

Update your card from **Billing**. Past invoices are listed there too, with links to download
them.

## Deleting your store

At the bottom of **Billing**, behind a confirmation where you type your store's name.

Deleting:

* Cancels your Keyplar subscription immediately
* Takes the store offline right away — customers can't reach it
* Keeps your catalog, orders, customers, licenses and uploaded files for **30 days**, so you can
  change your mind
* Permanently deletes everything, files included, after that

<Warning>
  Deleting your Keyplar store does **not** cancel or refund anything at your own payment gateway.
  Your customers' subscriptions keep charging until you cancel them there.
</Warning>

Within the 30 days, restore the store from the page you land on when you visit its address, or by
contacting support. After that it's gone — there's no backup to recover from.

See [Data and privacy](/data-and-privacy) for the full detail on what's deleted and when.
