Subscriptions lists the recurring plans your customers hold. Each one is created from your gateway — Keyplar never invents a subscription because a product looked recurring.

What a subscription shows

Open one and you get:
  • The customer and the product
  • Current status, straight from the gateway
  • Payments — every linked order, the initial purchase and every renewal since
That payments list is the only place renewals are shown in full. They’re deliberately hidden from the Orders list so it stays readable.

Cancelling

Customers cancel themselves from Subscriptions in their portal. You can also cancel on their behalf from the admin subscription page — useful when someone emails support instead. Either way, Keyplar cancels at the gateway first, then records it locally. When a later webhook arrives confirming the same cancellation, nothing happens twice.

What cancelling revokes

The benefits granted by that subscription’s product stop working, and they aren’t quietly re-granted afterwards — as long as the subscription is cancelled, that product’s benefits stay revoked. If the same customer holds the same product through a different, still-active subscription or a one-off purchase, that access is unaffected.
Cancelling in your gateway’s dashboard works too — the webhook brings the change back to Keyplar and the same revocation happens. Cancelling from Keyplar just saves you the trip.

Renewals

A renewal payment arrives as a normal order linked to the subscription. Benefits that expire — license keys with an expiry, for instance — keep working because the subscription keeps them granted, not because a new key is issued.

Payment failures

A failed renewal is reported by the gateway and reflected in the subscription’s status. Keyplar doesn’t dun customers or retry payments — your gateway owns that, including its own retry schedule and emails.

Card and billing details

Customers manage their payment method at the gateway that charges them, not in Keyplar. Your store handles what they bought; the gateway handles how they pay for it.
